Well we made through Dec 21st 2012 and we're still here!
Now in all seriousness there are signs of the troubled times that lie ahead and all you have to do is turn on the news. Those that have known me for years know that I said that our economy could financially survive another Katrina well we have Sandy. The difference between Katrina and Sandy is Sandy hit the financial HUB of our country. 77 days since Sandy not a whole lot of relief has been felt for those individuals and the strain can be seen on the nations economy. How long did we hear we were headed for the fiscal cliff?
The Mayans were wrong but your should be kicking your prepping into high gear.
Here are some New Year's Prepping Resolutions.
*Bugging in or Bugging Out?
There are arguments for both sides but what I believe is you need to have not only Plan A but Plan B C D and E. If your bugging in or out you need to have alternate backup locations and plans. You may be over run by natural disasters or looters where will you go or do then to survive?
*Lists Lists and more Lists
I am the huge list maker. I have complete lists of food and water storage, first aid/medical supplies, and Security/Ammo/Hunting supplies. Each list also has the Want List which is supplies that need to be added. It doesn't matter how much food you have if you get an infection and have no antibiotics to fight it etc.
*Expand Your Knowledge Base
Make it a point to learn more. Take survival or first aid courses. Learn new skills from You Tube or take classes. For example if your food runs out and you have no idea how to hunt or garden then what?
Take some time to actually sit down and think about the prepping you need to get done in 30 days, 60 days, 6 months, 9 months, and for all of 2013. You will be glad you did. I have put a new page up called my How I Prepped This Week. It really helps to put your preps into writing to keep yourself motivated and on track. And who knows? You may get some great ideas from fellow Goddess Preppers!

Prepping On A Budget Part 2
I am really excited about the feedback I have been getting on this article and please send me your ideas!
Dollar Stores
I love these for first aid/cleaning products and water purification. I can buy two bottles of peroxide, a tube of generic neosporin, a gallon of bleach (for water purification and self defense)......All for $1 each. I also buy a package of Kotex pads that work as a great as wound dressings.
Second Hand Stores
I like these for clothing, camping, building supplies and believe it or not vehicles. Some second hand stores are non profit such as Habitat for Humanity, Boats and Car Ministries, and of course Goodwill. Builders will donate extra building supplies to Habitat for Humanity for write off's on their taxes. If you are building your retreat you can get cabinets, counter tops, doors etc. all at deep discounts. You can donate your car or boat to the Angel Ministries and take $500 off your taxes, I have done this when I donated a Dodge Intrepid when it blew an engine. They rebuild and resell.
Craigslist/Backpage
This is a great place but buyer beware of what you buy and your safety. I'm sure many of you have heard about the Craigslist Serial Killer or the person that bought something that was totally a lemon. I will look thru these adds and you can find some gems. I purchased a Coleman lantern, cooler, and air mattress (all only used once) for $12. If you decide you have found something that you want to buy meet that individual in a very public place like MacDonald's and DO NOT GO ALONE!
EBAY
I have to admit I am an Ebay addict. If I haven't bought anything in a month they are sending me a "We miss you" email. I purchased my truck on there in 2004 and I still have it and drive it everyday. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. I purchased 46 acres in Maine in 2001 sight unseen, lived there for a year and sold it at a $10,000 profit. Ebay is a gamble on what you get so you really need to do your homework. On the land in Maine I did a title search to make sure the title was free and clear and I did the same with the truck.
There are gems for prepping everywhere and the biggest thing I want to stress is do your homework and make lists! I make lists for absolutely everything. Lists for what I need in food, ammo, first aid, storage, clothes, etc. With making these lists it will help you keep your spending in check and show what you lack in so you can prioritize.

Wal-Mart VS The Morons
This post came from a group I am a part of and was asked to post it here and keep it circulating
AND
I know what's wrong. We have lost our minds to "Political Correctness" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wal-Mart vs. The Morons
1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal- Mart every hour of every day.
2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!
3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.
4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.
5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.
6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.
7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.
8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.
9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.
10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago .
11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)
12. 90% of all American s live within fifteen miles of a Wal -Mart .
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal -Mart to fix the economy.
This should be read and understood by all Americans, Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!
To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature,
It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:
a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.
b. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.
d. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.
e. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.
f. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.
g. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars .
Americans , keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

Time To Charge With Treason!!!!!!!!!!!!
NAFTA was by far the worst piece of legislation ever created by the money hungry mongers in Washington. Every government official (including Bill Clinton) who voted for this should be charged with TREASON. Just like another spy or persons that sell this country out they are charged with treason
On January 1, 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement between the United States, Canada, and Mexico (NAFTA) entered into force.
All remaining duties and quantitative restrictions were eliminated, as scheduled, on January 1, 2008.
NAFTA created the world's largest free trade area, which now links 450 million people producing $17 trillion worth of goods and services.
Basically any U.S company could have their product manufactured in another country with cheap labor and bring it back with very limited tax or penalties.
Does anyone else smell payoff money here??
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the timeline of this and the mass exodus of U.S companies, triggering mass unemployment. Doe's our government think we are all that stupid??
What happened to "Buy American"? It died when this piece of s**t bill was signed!
I was a first hand witness to this. 3 days after the signing of this bill we were herded into the lunchroom and told in that our whole line was being shipped to Mexico where they only had to pay $3.50 per hour with no benefits. If we wanted to collect 6 more weeks of being employed we could go there and train the new scab workers....oh yeah sign me up for that!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I urge every reader of this to contact your government officials and DEMAND they repeal this act or be charged with TREASON.

Are We A Super Power Anymore?
As many of you have seen the U.S credit rating was downgraded. Are we a super power anymore? By the looks of things it's evident that we are losing that. All through history there has been shifts in power.
At one time Egypt with it's mighty Pharaoh's were the super power. Then Roman was the power that conquered and ran the world. Next the country that we escaped it's tyranny and King, England.
Anyone seeing a pattern here?
I believe our run as a a super power is winding to a very scary apocalyptic end. Over the next few days I am going to devote this blog to talking about this shift in power and how to prepare yourself and family for what I believe lies ahead.
